An endless belt conveyer 2 is supported on an air cushion generated within a chamber 5 formed by a base member 4 and a flexible peripheral wall 9 inclined inwardly of said base. The conveyer 2 closing the chamber. The wall 9 comprises a plurality of U-sectioned elements, whose limbs 11 are directed inwardly of the chamber.
