An end fitting for a thin-walled hose e.g. for electric wiring, as described in the parent Specification, comprising a hose 22 doubled over a ring 19, with an external taper 20 and a counterbore (21), Fig. 2 (not shown), the ring and hose being attached to a body member 10, has the end fitting modified by the provision of a series of external ribs 13, a channel 15 and a projection 14 at one end of the body member, the bore of the body member being relatively constricted at the end, at 17. The ring 19 and hose 22 are slid over the end of the body member 10 and a tool is inserted through the bore, expanding the body end so that the ribs 13 compress the doubled-over portion of the hose, the channel 15 receives the non-counterbored portion of the ring with clearance, and the projection 14 interlocks with the tapered end of the ring thereby retaining the ring. The ring and body member may be made of aluminium or an aluminium alloy. |
