A liquid dentifrice preparation comprises a stable homogeneous and pourable suspension of an abrasive material in a liquid vehicle containing, as suspending agent, 0.3 to 2.0% by weight of a polysaccharide of high molecular weight (>1,000,000) containing mannose, glucose, potassium glucoronate and acetyl in the approximate molar ratio 2:1:1:1. Conventional additives e.g. anticariogenics surfactants, flavours, additional solvents such as glycerol and alcohol and sweeteners may also be present. Numerous conventional abrasives are specified. |
