1,168,990. Take-up motions. SULZER BROS. Ltd. 28 Oct., 1966 [29 Oct., 1965], No. 48379/66. Heading DIE. In addition to the take-up motion the loom has means to move the cloth forward after beat-up. These means are utilised to increase the length of the shed when weaving with highly resilient yarns which would "follow" back the reed after beat-up and impede the gripper shuttle; to produce terry fabric and to produce cloth having weft bar patterning. In Figure 1 the sley 21 is oscillated by a cam 26 and the swords 22 have extensions 24 which pivot a breast beam 15 to move the fell a distance c as the reed 12 moves back after beat-up. In Figure 2 (not shown) the breast beam 15 is oscillated by a separate cam shaped to move the cloth intermittently to produce fast and loose picks to terry weaving or weft bar patterning. The breast beam may be stationery and the take-up roller additionally rotated by axially moving its driving worm or the take-up roller may be rotated by a differential gear having two inputs. |
