PURPOSE:To simplify electrode structure and enable the easy constitution of a driving circuit by providing such a constitution as connect two individual discharge electrodes to a Y conductive electrode by one connecting conductor. CONSTITUTION:When a discharge voltage is applied between determined X, Y electrodes of ax X discharge electrode group and a Y conductive electrode group, a discharge for display is generated to conduct a discharge emission between the discharge face of the X electrode and the discharge face of an individual discharge electrode 6 connected to the Y electrode in discharge cells 11-13 for display in the crossing part of these X and Y electrodes. Namely, the X, Y matrix drivings are made possible. As a color display image plane is formed by the discharge emission of a discharge cell groups having three discharge cells 11-13 of triangular pattern as one picture element for color display, the quality of color display picture is made excellent. Hence, the number of electrodes is reduced to make the constitution of the driving circuit simple, and also an improvement in quality of color display picture and power saving can be achieved. |
