The control device has a light reception element which extinguishes the flashlamp when luminous energy arriving at the reception element from the object reaches a certain value. It includes an electrooptical component with a variable transparency, so that the luminous energy falling on the reception element (5) can be controlled by changing the component (8) transparency. There is also a device applying control voltage to the electrooptical component (8) whose value is determined by the set values (by Rf, Ra) of illumination factors determined by film illumination conditions.
