The resistor, for a transformer load changeover switch circuit, consists of a hexagonal insulating framework around which the resistance wire (5) is wound to form a cage. The framework is formed by a central ring with six flat outer surfaces. Insulating pieces (8) are attached to these flat surfaces and each has several slots to accommodate the wire. The ends of the wires are led in radially towards the centre through holes in the insulating pieces and in the central ring. The advantage lies in adequate cooling, simplicity and in the ability to stack several such resistors.
