Quantitative air suspended oil determinations - by continuous passage through a Tyndall effect measuring photometer

The concn. of oil suspended in air to be breathed is determined by continuously passing such air through a Tyndall effect measuring photometer whereupon the scattered light measured gives a quantitative determination. To simulate work conditions and determine the suspension forming properties of the oil, clean air is passed through a body of oil upstream of the photometer. Used in workplaces, esp. where cutting or lubricating oils are used.
