Burst proof casing for pressure vessels consists of a number of interconnected pipes which surround the vessel with clearance. The pipes contact the vessel via spacers over small surfaces. Pref. the spacers take the form of ribs or humps are integrated with the inside surface of the respective pipe. The spacers can be coated in resilient material on their surface facing the vessel. Pipes, lids and bases are all be connected under pre-tension using turnbuckles, or with the aid of tension cables, ropes or wires. The pipes runs can also be enclosed peripherally by a tension strap.
