A recording device using folding paper has an input container and an input peg wheel placed near the container paper inlet. It ensures reliable folding of the paper in both directions. An arm coupled to the input peg wheel via a gear mechanism passes in and out once through an opening in the input container wall during the time in which the paper moves twice the distance between successive folds. The arm has a slot in which a peg actuated by the gear mechanism engages.
