<p>A sheet for use in coating a phonographic disc (3) with an atomised protective material layer is made of flexible plastics material and has an upper glazed surface (1) and a lower granitic surface (2). The lower surface is anti-slip to prevent movement of the sheet while the glazed upper surface allows easy cleaning. The sheet is 2-3 mm thick. A disc (3) is first placed flat on the cleaned sheet, the resilience of the later preventing damage to the disc (3), for example by scratching. The disc (3) is then sprayed with the protective material and wiped with a soft brush in the normal manner. Once dry, the disc (3) is turned over and the other side is sprayed. As a result of the sheet being much larger than the disc (3). The supporting surface is protected from the spray.</p> |
