The insulating tool, for insulating wire connections to the ends of windings, has an adhesive tape (1) passing through a folding and guiding device (3) that folds the tape along its long axis. A conveying grip (5) moves the tape under a press (6). The end of the wire is inserted into the pocket formed by the folded tape. The sides of the tape are then pressed around the wire end and the tape cut. The cutter (10) is coupled to the press so that pressing and cutting occur in the same process. The folding and guiding device has a conical outlet (31). The press punch has an elastic seat (9). The cutter comprises a wedge-shaped knife.
