PURPOSE:To obtain a low cost electrode with improved characteristics, by impregnating a used gas diffusing electrode of deteriorated performance with both a carbon powder and a binder, and thereby making a gas diffusing electrode. CONSTITUTION:A used (with deteriorated performance) gas diffusing elecrode which is made of a nickel sintered body and contains a catalyst and a water repellent, is reused. A used gas diffusing electrode is impregnated with a mixture prepared by adding a carbon powder to a binder, for example, a fluorine resin dispersion before the binder is stirred, and a catalyst and a water repellent are added to the electrode impregnated with the mixture, thereby a gas diffusing electrode being obtained. The former carbon powder is preferred to be active carbon. The ratios by weight of the former carbon powder and binding agent to the nickel sintered body are preferably 5-15%. |
