The apparatus is intended for pneumatically unloading bulk cargo, such as cement, phosphates etc., from a craft moved alongside a quay. It is installed on the craft. A portal crane is used, with its bridge supported by legs (3) which travel along the sides of the craft, spanning the hold. The material is sucked from the hold through a tube (15) suspended from a swinging jib (17) on top. The material enters a suction vessel (8) from which it is discharged through a line to a terminal on shore. This vessel, with a filter (9) and pumps (7), forms a unit suspended under the bridge, while associated equipment with a blower, compressor and switching equipment form a second unit (13) attached to the portal crane by upper connections (10), travelling with it. The first unit is suspended from the crane hooks. All suction lines incorporate connecting unions. PS.
