4-N,N-Dimethylcarbamoyloxy-6-aminopyrimidines, and salts thereof, of the formula <IMAGE> wherein R1 and R2 independently of one another are each hydrogen, C1-C5-alkyl, C1-C5-haloalkyl, C3-C6-cycloalkyl, C2-C5-alkenyl or C2-C5-alkynyl, or together they are a C2-C5-alkylene group, R3 is halogen or C1-C5-alkyl, and R4 is C1-C5-alkyl, or R3 is hydrogen and R4 is C2-C5-alkyl. There are described a process for producing these pyrimidines, their use for combating pests, and also the intermediates of the formula <IMAGE> wherein R1 and R2 independently of one another are each hydrogen, C1-C5-alkyl, C1-C5-haloalkyl, C3-C6-cycloalkyl, C2-C5-alkenyl or C2-C5-alkynyl, or together they are a C2-C5-alkylene group, R3 is halogen or C1-C5-alkyl, and R4 is C1-C5-alkyl, or R3 is hydrogen and R4 is C2-C5-alkyl.
