A legal provision prescribes the separation of NOx in the flow gases of boilers to quantities smaller than 200mg/m<3>. To this effect, a known solution is to make flue gases pass through catalysts. In order to facilitate such a NOx separation, the present invention proposes to provide the inside of smoke pipes (2) of the boiler (1) with catalysis surfaces (3). Said surfaces may be helically arranged in the smoke pipes (2) while being moveable inside the latter.
