PURPOSE:To conduct a stable paper feed action and ensure an accurate printing position, by a method wherein a shaft selected among shafts, except a pin belt drive shaft, which pass through pin belts in tractors capable of longitudinal motion is used as a platen. CONSTITUTION:A platen 3 passes through the upper portions, i.e. the paper discharge side, of annular pin belts 2, 2 respectively extending along inner circumferential faces of tractors 1, 1. After a printing paper 9 is engaged with the pin belts 2, 2 in the tractors 1, 1, bodies of the tractors 1, 1 are covered with tractor covers 14, 14. With a printing switch turned on, a motor 5 is started to rotate a pin belt drive shaft 7 via a belt 6 and a pulley 8. The rotation of the pin belt drive shaft 7 causes the pin belts 2,2 in the tractors 1, 1 to rotate to carry the printing paper 9. With the platen 3 which is so constructed as to pass through the pin belts 2, 2 in the tractor 1, 1, the printing paper 9 is allowed to be guided at both the paper feed side and the paper discharge side of a printing hammer 4, which enables a stable paper feed action to be accomplished and an accurate printing position to be ensured. |
