PURPOSE:To obtain stable sealing performance over a long period of time by surrounding an opening to be sealed with a shape memory alloy which forms a bead at the temp. above a defined temp. CONSTITUTION:A shape memory alloy 6 forms a bead 6a on the peripheral edge part of an opening 4 to be sealed when its temp. becomes above a defined value. At a low temp. the shape memory alloy 6 remains in nearly a flat shape. When the temp. becomes the temp. above a defined value, since a clamping pressure is being applied to a gasket, the shape memory alloy 6 is deformed and the internal stress of the shape memory alloy 6 acts as a strong pressing force on the contacting face with the gasket.
