The invention relates to a device for removing burrs which result on continuously cast slabs during division by flame-cutting, consisting of a rotationally driven shaft which is provided in the course of the roller table transporting the slab and has a plurality of hammers pendulously movable thereon and fixed one beside the other, the movement path of which hammers extends tangentially with respect to the slab edge bearing the burr and perpendicularly to the burr situated there. To construct such a device in a way that the removal of the burrs is possible at both ends of the slab without reversing the direction of rotation of the shaft equipped with hammers, it is proposed that two mutually parallel shafts (3, 4) equipped with hammers (5) and capable of being driven in opposite rotational directions are in each case movable between a working position, in which the burr (2a) to be removed is situated in the movement path of the hammers (5), and a position in which the burr (2a) is situated outside the movement path of the hammer (5). <IMAGE>
