<p>At each point of use, there is a terminal (7) consisting of a data input keyboard (B), visual display (D), input (E) and output (D) interfaces and a drug storage mechanism (A). All terminals are connected to a central data processor (8). All supply transactions are controlled by the CPU via the central supply store (10) and the hospital administration office (9). If a link is in place, supplies to the central store can be reordered automatically from the wholesaler (11). The drugs delivered to each point of use are packed in flat packs which have coded indentations along their edges.
