Air spring, comprising an elastic U-type bellows, a reservoir fixed to the U-type bellows, at least one fixing element between the U-type bellows and the reservoir, a connection point assigned to the vehicle body, a piston rod of a vibration damper, which has a vibration damper outer tube representing a rolling surface for the U-type bellows, connecting elements on the piston rod and the vibration damper outer tube respectively, for connection of the air spring-vibration damper unit inside a vehicle chassis, characterised in that the U-type bellows has a closure element which is supported on a piston rod-side end face of the vibration damper outer tube and that the reservoir has a sealing part, which is operationally connected to a seal and is supported on an axial stop surface, which performs a movement in conformity with the vehicle body relative to the vibration damper outer tube, the air spring being axially fixed by the system pressure inside the air spring by way of the closure element and the sealing part.
