The motor (1) body has projections (2,3) for support and fixing. These projections mate with suitable recesses on the fixing device (10), comprising two parts, of similar form, diagonally opposite. The two sections slide, or telescope, in each other, to accommodate differing sizes of motor. The fixing device may have support surfaces (11) on each part, each having a support recess (111). Each support surface may have side pieces (13,14), folded at right angles from it, forming parallel sides, pierced with a number of fixing holes (131,141). Each support surface and pair of sides may form a single component, two being assembled together to form the complete fixing device assembly. The side pieces may have differing widths.
