PURPOSE:To provide a forming method for silk fibroin block, which will never generate crack, crazing and the like which are generated upon working a contact lens and optical strain is generated very seldom while prominent in workability since the block is homogeneous optically and mechanically, a contact lens employing said block and the manufacturing method of the contact lens. CONSTITUTION:Silk fibroin solution, containing 20-45wt.% of silk fibroin and not containing electrolytic impurities substantially is received in a forming vessel consisting of a water vapor permeable material and the water is vaporized and removed to dry and solidify it while controlling the vaporizing speed of the solution in the forming vessel whereby the fibroin block is formed, then, a contact lens employing the block can be manufactured by the manufacturing method of the same.
