A machine (1) and a method for making a sheet of single-face corrugated paperboard by adhering a corrugated paperboard sheet (23) to a planar paperboard sheet (24) are disclosed. The machine includes three heating rolls in substantially tangentially arranged pairs with parallel axes, including two fluted rolls. The machine comprises first positive drive means arranged directly before and adjacent to the first fluted roll, and provided with power means designed in such a way that the feed rate of the planar sheet to the fluted rolls on the output side of said first positive drive means is constant and lower at all times than the linear sheet speed imparted on the input side of said fluted rolls by the rotational speed thereof.
