PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid erroneous changing by stopping a vacant ink tank of a plurality of ink tanks at a specific position by a stopping means based on detection of a vacant tank detecting means, and directly supporting the tank to be changed. SOLUTION: When residual ink detecting sensor 17 detects that an ink tank 11b becomes vacant, a detecting signal indicating it is transmitted to a control circuit 15. The circuit 15 controls a drive motor 14 based on a detection signal from a carriage scanning position detecting sensor 16 and the signal from the sensor 17, linearly moves a carriage 18, and then stops to tanks 11b at the time of arriving at marks 12a, 12b. Since those to be replaced of the four ink tanks 11a, 11b, 11c, 11d are directly indicated by the marks 12a, 12b, possibility of erroneous recognition is reduced to a minimum limit, and hence erroneous change of the tank at the time of changing the tank can be avoided. |
