The filling level sensor has a temperature-dependent resistance chain, which extend over the fluid level measuring path, and which are heated by a heating device with at least one surface heating element (2), so that the resistances are thermally coupled to their surroundings. The heating elements extends over the measuring path. Preferably, the heating device comprises two heating layers, which have a low temperature co-efficient, and are separated by a gap. The heating layers may be provided as a thick-film layer applied to a ceramics substrate.
