PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply the same key to an optical access node and a communication network terminal by generating the key and protecting the secrecy of the key. SOLUTION: This ciphering device is usable so as to cipher information units (U1, U2 and U3) carried by cells to be multi-address communicated from an optical multi-address communication node (OAN) to the communication network terminals (ONU1,...,ONU4) by using a passive optical communication network (APON) and the respective cells (CL1) carry at least one information unit and the respective information units respectively to a subscriber terminal, equipment. The device is provided with a ciphering means provided with a means (KM and CDC) for receiving at least one key (Ki) by a non-ciphered sentence from at least one deciphering device(DD) provided in the communication network terminal. The application field of the device is a remote communication network ATM. |
