PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance rodent-proof capability at low cost and easily make a cable flame resistant by forming the containing part of a smell repellent such as a terpenoid smell repellent, extending in a belt shape in the lengthy direction in the surface layer of a sheath formed by extruding a rubber, plastic composition in the outer circumference of a cable core. SOLUTION: Plural insulating core wires 3 formed by covering a conductor 1 with an insulating material such as polyethylene are twisted through interpositions 4 such as a jute, and the outer circumference of the twisted wires is taped with a tape 5 by applying pressure to form a core 6. A sheath 7 is formed in the outer circumference of the core 6 by extruding a flame resistant rubber, plastic composition using polyvinyl chloride or polyolefin as a base. The containing part 8 of a smell repellent such as a terpnoid smell repellent, in which the thickness extending in a belt shape in the lengthy direction of two cores is made about 1/3 of the sheath 7, is linearly or spirally formed in the surface layer of the sheath 7. A rodent-proof cable with good rodent-proof capability, high cable characteristics, and high flame resistance is obtained at low cost. |
