PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the recording density of disc while ensuring a skew margin for permitting production of disc and the strength of disc. SOLUTION: In the method for producing an optical disc 10 where a protruding/recessed pattern corresponding to a recording signal is formed on one surface (11A) and a reflective film layer is formed thereon, a substrate 11 is produced such that the thickness h1 of the first region 11A1 where the protruding/recessed pattern corresponding to a recording signal is formed is smaller than the thickness h2 of second region 11A2 other than the first region 11A1 . This structure ensures the strength of optical disc 10 and a skew margin for permitting production of disc thus realizing an optical disc, and a production method therefor, which can deal with high recording density using a single substrate. |
