摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an automatic stereoscopic display device with less visual archifacts by allowing an optical system to generate plural visual windows on a window plane in cooperation with the display device so as to form adjacent pairs of the visual windows to be overlapped in the lateral direction. SOLUTION: Since a viewer is resident at a position A, since the position of a left eye is within a window 3, the left view data is displayed by pixels of a 3rd image display device. The right eye is resident in an overlapped area between the windows 1 and 2. When the viewer moves to the left, the right eye view data having been displayed on the window 1 is switched to the data of the window 2 and the pixels supplying an image to the window 1 are switched to the black pixels. Thus, at a position B, the right and left view data are displayed respectively on the windows 2 and 3. Thus, when the viewer moves, the visual archifacts caused by the dispersion in the intensity is substantially reduced or eliminated.
