The invention relates to a remote control system, especially for the remote control of an electronic control device (ELF) in a motor vehicle. Said system comprises a transmission device for wire-bound transmission of signals between the remote control device (FB) and the control device (ELF). The system is characterised in that the transmission device is provided with a connecting cable (10, 11) comprising two leads. Said cable (10, 11) is arranged between the control device (ELF) and the remote control device (FB) and is used for supplying supply voltage to the remote control device. The system also comprises at least one first modulation device (4) in the remote control device (FB). The modulation device temporarily interrupts or reduces the supply voltage of the remote control device (FB) according to remote-control instructions inputted via a keyboard (2) of the remote control device (FB). The system also comprises at least one detection device (15) that is allocated to the control device (ELF). Said detection device (15) detects each interruption of the supply voltage triggered by the modulation device (4) of the remote control device (FB). The invention also relates to the use of said remote control system for the remote control and the transmission of data from and to the control device (ELF) of an electronically controlled pneumatic shock absorption of a motor vehicle.
