PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To assure the sufficient capacity and life of a built-in battery and to improve utilizability by building a display device not requiring a back light in a display section and housing the sheet-like built-in battery represented by a lithium polymer battery in the rear surface of the display device. SOLUTION: A reflection type liquid crystal display 6 is built into a casing 31 constituting the display section 30 of the portable type information apparatus 1 adopting a transmission type liquid crystal display. A battery housing space 32 of about 3 mm corresponding to the thickness of the back light unit of the transmission type liquid crystal display is formed between the rear surface of the reflection type liquid crystal unit 6A and the inside surface of the casing 31. The built-in battery 4C formed to a sheet form is housed into this battery housing space 32. As a result, the battery capacity of the built-in battery 4C may be increased and the need for an extension battery to be installed outside is eliminated. Since the back light is not required for the display device, the battery life may be further prolonged.
