PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To interactively and quickly generate a digital image, which looks as if it were manually drawn, on the basis of an image like a photograph while maintaining a high artistic control. SOLUTION: A user discriminates an area on a digital campus 12 and sets a reference color, a color gradient, a style of an art brush 14, etc., on the basis of a corresponding area on a reference image 10. When a bright stroke is drawn in this area of the digital campus 12, the trace of the brush stroke is plotted in the area on the basis of the set style of the art brush 14 and the set color gradient. Since the brush stroke is set for each area, plural brush strokes can be applied at a time.
