PURPOSE: A device for measuring tappet rotation for a vehicle engine is provided to measure the rotary direction and the momentary velocity of the tappet by a graphic. CONSTITUTION: A device for measuring tappet rotation for a vehicle engine includes a valve guide(6); a tappet housing(20) capable of fixing a valve assembly formed with a valve spring(7) and a valve(8), and a tappet(1) mounted on the top of the valve for contacting the valve assembly and the tappet with a cam(2); a gear-shaped encoder(30) attached to the lower part of the tappet, an element(10) scanning a laser beam to a gear part of the tappet; and a tappet rotation measuring device formed with optical fibers having a photo transistor drawing a signal controlling the laser beam by a gear surface according to the rotation of the tappet for converting into an electric signal, a signal processing circuit converting the electric signal into a digital signal, and an operating device analyzing and processing the digital signal for making graphic.
