PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance heat transfer performance of an aluminum refrigerant evaporator. SOLUTION: In a refrigerant evaporator where a large number of aluminum tubes 2-5 are laid in layer and aluminum fins 19 are interposed between the tubes 2-5 in order to increase the heat transfer area of air passing between the tubes 2-5, plate thickness TT of the tubes 2-5 is set in the range of 0.1<=TT<=0.35 mm, and the tube height TH, i.e., the dimension of the tubes 2-5 in the laying direction, is set in the range of 1.5<=TH<=3.0 mm. Since pressure loss of a refrigerant passage is decreased and the air side heat transfer area is increased, heat transfer performance can be enhanced as compared with a conventional one.
