PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multiply reflected time-of-flight mass spectrometer capable of at least the primary velocity focusing both in a single reflection mode and in a multiple reflection mode and changing the mode for requiring fewer additional components that those the conventional types. SOLUTION: The time-of-flight mass spectrometer 1 provides a drift region 2, an ion packet generator 6, first and second ion reflectors 18, 19, and at least one ion detector 20. An ion packet is reflected, so as to be reciprocated between the first and second ion reflectors and reflected n-times at the second ion reflector 19. The detector 20 is arranged, so that the ion packet which was reflected by the first ion reflector 18 but did not enter the second ion reflector 19, is detected at least partially. The number of reflections at the second ion reflector 19 are selected by adjusting the initial inclination with respect to a shaft 3. |
