PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a structure for connecting the upper and lower partition plates of a safe garbage treating device by increasing the bending strength of the connecting part between a plastic partition plate 36 and an upper metallic partition plate 37 to make a gap difficult to form, preventing the breakage of the plastic partition plate 36 and metallic partition plate 37, thus protecting a motor from being locked by the remains of the broken plates. SOLUTION: Almost the lower halves of a garbage treating tank for rotating an impeller through a rotating shaft and a overflow control tank for controlling the agitated garbage are separated by the plastic partition plate in the housing of the garbage treating device body, and the upper parts of the plastic partition plate are connected through the metallic partition plate provided with a slit. An engaging part furnished at the lower part of the metallic partition plate is engaged with the upper end of the plastic partition plate. Meanwhile, the engaging part is fixed by a long-sized body continuous in the longitudinal direction, and the side end of the metallic partition plate is fixed to the inside of the housing of the treating device body.
