PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a series regulator capable of coping with various kinds of capacitors by itself. SOLUTION: A resistance R6 for regulation with one end connected to an output line, and a regulation terminal Vo' connected to the other end of the resistance R6 to be operated as an additional output terminal are provided in this series regulator having an output terminal Vo connected to the output line. Connection to the regulation terminal Vo' is allowed thereby when the capacitor C has a low ESR value, connection to the output terminal Vo is allowed when the capacitor C has a high ESR value, oscillation is prevented thereby, and coping with the various capacitors is allowed by the series regulator itself.
