PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for treating an alcohol waste liquid containing radioactive substances which makes it possible to separate only alcohol from the waste liquid, reduce the concentration of alcoholate in the residue and pour it into a conventional radioactive waste liquid treatment facility and enables the speedy treatment of a large quantity of the waste liquid. SOLUTION: After water is added to the alcohol waste liquid composed mainly of alcohol and sodium containing the radioactive substances to hydrolyze the waste liquid and the alcoholate is converted into the sodium hydrate, the sodium is removed as sodium hydrate through an electrodialysis treatment.
