The arrangement has a grinder connected to a flue gas channel and outputting a ground product, an arrangement(s) for feeding tempering material into the flue gas channel, devices for measuring temperatures of mixed tempering material, flue gas entering the channel and of the mixture in the channel, a device for measuring the flow of mixed tempering material and an evaluation device for deriving the flow of flue gas from the measurements. The arrangement has a grinder (11) connected to a flue gas channel (18) and delivering a ground product at its output (32), at least one arrangement (21) for feeding tempering material into the flue gas channel, devices (35-38) for measuring the temperature of the mixed tempering material, of the flue gas entering the channel and of the mixture in the channel, a device for measuring the flow of mixed tempering material and an evaluation device for deriving the flow of flue gas from the measurements. Independent claims are also included for the following: a combustion device for a steam generator and a method of producing coal dust in a grinding-drying process.
