PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide fastener chain which is flexible, resistant to horizontal pull and under pressure in an engaged condition and is high-quality. SOLUTION: A resin fastener elements 2 are molded on a side edge section 5 of a fastener tape 3 into a fastener chain 1. The fastener element 2 has a shank fixed to the fastener tape 3, a cervix 8 which has concave side faces and extends forward from the shank 9 and an engaging head 7 formed at a leading front of the cervix 8, furthermore, in a style, engaging prongs 12 are formed in both sides of the cervix 8, engaging grooves 11 which are engaged with the engaging prongs 12 are formed in both sides of the engaging head 7 and the engaging grooves 11 are formed in both full length sides of the engaging head 7, or in another style, the engaging grooves 11 are formed in both sides of the front of the engaging head 7, the engaging prongs 12 which can engage with the engaging grooves 11 are formed at both sides of the cervix 8 and the engaging prongs 12 projects out through the side face of the shank 9.
