It is intended to provide a package of a volatile substance composed of a bag containing a volatile substance having an antibacterial effect enclosed therein and a case containing the bag enclosed therein, wherein the size and shape of the case are designed so that the package has a shape suitable for the volume and shape of various air conditioners and the volatile substance can permeate through the bag at an appropriate rate and thus vaporize at a definite speed. Namely, a package of a volatile substance composed of a source generating the volatile substance and a case, which contains the volatile substance source enclosed therein and at least a part of the wall of which is made of a gas-permeable resin, characterized in that a value expressed by the formula XxZ/Y is from 200000 to 1500000 (wherein X represents the surface area (mm^2) of the wall of the case; Y represents the thickness (mm) of the wall; and Z represents the vaporization rate (mg/day) of the volatile substance generated from the volatile substance source per day in an atmosphere at 30oC.
