A crash sensor and method for processing a measured value from the crash sensor are disclosed. At least one measured parameter is recorded by a sensor element and a first rewritable memory is provided in which data is stored for influencing the processing of the at least one measured parameter. Furthermore, a second hard-wired memory is provided in which second data is stored for influencing the processing. A logic component is provided which charges either the first or second data for processing the at least one measured parameter depending on a test of the first memory.
