The present invention relates to novel N'-cyano-N-methylimidamide derivatives of the general formula (I) in which n represents 2, 3, 4 or 5, R represents optionally halogen-substituted C₁-C₄-alkyl, and X represents halogen, where the substituents X may in each case be identical or different, to processes for their preparation and to their use as pesticides.
