<p>PURPOSE:To enable a customer to estimate the cost and the period corresponding to specifications with a high precision by providing an estimating means which estimates the cost and the period required for production of a commodity based on commodity specifications determined by a commodity specification determining means. CONSTITUTION:The fundamental structure of the commodity is stored as structure description data in a data base; and when the customer inputs the form and the color of a presented sample as a appearance specification request, appearance specification request recognition results are connected to fundamental structure data to easily determine specifications of the commodity having the appearance desired by the customer. When commodity specifications according with the customer's will are determined, the cost and period required for production are estimated based on commodity specification data and data where the structure method added to structure description data describing the structure of the commodity is described. Thus, the cost of production and the appointed date of delivery of the commodity suiting customer's taste are detected.</p> |
