PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hollow member made of an Al-Si-based alloy approximately uniformly dispersed with minute primary crystal Si and a method for manufacturing the same. SOLUTION: First, an outer cylindrical shape body 14 consisting of AC9A equivalent material is provided by the centrifugal casting apparatus 20. Next, when the temperature of the outer cylindrical shape body 14 falls preferably down to a liquid phase-solidus of a phase diagram or below after the lapse of a prescribed time, the molten metal L of the AC9A equivalent material is introduced to the inner peripheral wall side of the outer cylindrical shape body 14 to form the inner cylindrical shape body while performing the rotation of the cylindrical shaped mold 22.
