The steering wheel (1) has a hub (2) connected to the steering column and a covered rim (3) connected to the hub by a branch (4). The rim has an upper sector (5) with an information zone (10). This upper sector extends either side the vertical axis (7) at an angle ( alpha ) of 45 deg . The information zone which extends vertically between the rim circumferential axis (8) and the internal radius (Ri) of the rim is axially delimited by the upper sector edges. The information zone is covered with a transparent cover (14) which is flush with the rim covering. The information zone comprises illuminating information symbols (11,13) integral with the rim cover.
