PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a press molding method of preventing springback of a press-molded article curving in a longitudinal direction and hat-shaped in cross-section, and to provide a method of producing a press molding mold.SOLUTION: A press molding method comprises: a press molding analysis process of calculating the residual tensile stress distribution of a press-molded article at a molding bottom dead center by a press molding analysis; an area specifying process of conducting a springback analysis based on the residual tensile stress distribution calculated in the press molding analysis process, and specifying the area in which the residual tensile stress triggering defective shape freezing by springback exists; a clearance change process of changing a mold clearance of the portion contacting the area specified in the area specifying process; and a press molding process of press-molding using the mold in which the clearance of the portion contacting the above area in the clearance change process is changed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
