PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel pump with high pump efficiency.SOLUTION: A fuel pump is equipped with an outer gear; an inner gear 20 eccentrically meshed with the outer gear; and a pump housing for storing both gears. The two gears rotate while expanding/contracting a capacity of each pump chamber between them, thereby successively sucking/discharging fuel into/from each pump chamber. The inner gear 20 has sliding surface portions 25 which are respectively and annularly on outer peripheral portions 24 including outer teeth 24a on both sides in an axial direction, and slide with the pump housing; recessed portions 26 which are respectively provided on inner periphery sides than the sliding surface portions 25, and form fuel chambers 58 in which a fuel flows between the recessed portions 26 and the pump housing; a communication hole 27 communicating the recessed portions 26; and an inclined surface portion 29 which is provided at an edge portion on a rotary advance side of the inner gear 20 of a communication edge portion 28 communicating with the recessed portions 26 in the communication hole 27 while avoiding an adjacent portion 28b adjacent to an inner peripheral edge portion 25a of the sliding surface portion 25, and inclines to a deeper side toward a center portion of the communication hole 27.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5 |
