PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain the accuracy in detecting the density of toner by removing an influence of stray light from an adjacent electricity eliminating lamp.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 comprises: a density sensor 19 that is arranged adjacent to a sub electricity eliminating lamp 16 and optically detects the density of toner of a toner image on a photoreceptor drum 10; a patch creation part 221 that forms a test patch composed of toner on the photoreceptor drum 10 at the time of setting a toner density detection mode; and a density detection processing part 222 that performs detection of the density of the test patch with the density sensor 19 while reducing the intensity of light from the sub electricity eliminating lamp 16 to less than a predetermined intensity of light at the time of setting the toner density detection mode.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
